Khevin Barnes

Khevin Barnes is a writer and breast cancer advocate living in Vail, Arizona with his wife, two cats and a desert tortoise. He is a retired stage magician and now, a hopelessly obsessive five-string banjo player. He was diagnosed with male breast cancer in 2014.

Barbara Carlos

In July 2011 Barbara Carlos was diagnosed with stage 3 breast cancer. A resident of Hawaii, she works in administrative support at a college and has retirement as her career goal. Music keeps her sane, as side effects of chemo and radiation linger. Overweight since childhood, she keeps trying to lose the estrogen-laden fat that her cancer loves.

Diana M. Martin

Diana M. Martin has been an adjunct professor in The Writing and Reading Center at Montgomery College in Rockville, MD, for over 20 years. She has a MFA in Creative Nonfiction and has published articles in the areas of parenting, health and cultural arts. When her husband lost his battle with cancer of unknown primary, later identified as bile duct cancer, she became the sole caregiver for their adult son, Alex, who is autistic.
