John Smelcer, PhD, CAGS

John Smelcer is the author of 60 books, including a dozen books of poetry. His most recent collection is "Raven." For a quarter century, he was Poetry Editor at "Rosebud Magazine," where he currently serves as senior editor emeritus. From 2016-2020, he was the Inaugural Writer-in-Residence for the Charter for Compassion, the world’s largest compassion movement with over five million members in 45 countries.

Dr. Paolo Tarantino

Dr. Paolo Tarantino is a breast medical oncologist at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute and Harvard Medical School, both located in Boston, Massachusetts, as well as a clinical researcher at the European Institute of Oncology, in Milan, Italy.

Dr. Sara M. Tolaney

Dr. Sara M. Tolaney is a medical oncologist and a senior physician. She is chief of the Division of Breast Oncology and director of the Susan F. Smith Center for Women's Cancers at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, as well as anassociate professor of medicine at Harvard Medical School, located in Boston.

Dr. George Wang

Dr. George Wang is co-founder of SIRUM, where he leads the organization's efforts to save medicine. At SIRUM, George has built strong partnerships with major medicine donors, including hospitals, pharmacies, manufacturers, and nursing homes, while also informing and shaping medicine donation laws.

Dr. Jared Weiss

Dr. Jared Weiss is the section chief of the Thoracic and Head/Neck Oncology at the UNC Lineberger Comprehensive Cancer Center, located in Chapel Hill, North Carolina.

Doris Helene White

A sixth-generation Texan from San Antonio, Doris Helene White earned a B.A. from Central State University in Ohio (an historically black institution) and a juris doctorate from Boston University School of Law. Her career in the government sector as a Massachusetts trial attorney reaffirmed her commitment to an equitable legal system. Retired in 2014, Doris returned home, where she indulged a passion for writing, became an amateur advocate for the history of African Americans in these United States and continued active affiliation with San Antonio Black Lawyers Association, Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Jack and Jill of America, Bethel African Methodist Episcopal Church and other community organizations. Husband Steven Soares, daughter Dr. Leigh Soares and son Steven Cooper Soares lead the best “cancer posse” in the galaxy!

Dr. Breelyn Wilky

Dr. Breelyn Wilky is an associate professor of medicine in the Department of Medical Oncology at the University of Colorado, Anschutz Medical Campus. She also serves as the director of Sarcoma Medical Oncology, deputy associate director for Clinical Research, and the Cheryl Bennett and McNeilly Family Endowed Chair in Sarcoma Research at the University of Colorado Cancer Center, UCHealth.

Dr. Michael K. Wong

Dr. Michael K. Wong is a member of CURE’s advisory board, is the physician in chief at Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center in Buffalo, New York.
