The partnership aims to raise awareness of the special needs of teens with cancer, and inspire changed in the health system to adapt to meet the needs of this patient group.
CURE Media Group, the nation's leading digital and print media enterprise dedicated to patients and survivors of cancer, has added Teen Cancer America (TCA) to its Strategic Alliance Partnership (SAP) Program.
“We are looking forward to working with TCA to help change the face of cancer care for teenagers,” said Michael J. Hennessy Jr., president of Michael J. Hennessy Associates, parent company of CURE Media Group. “Through this collaboration, we will share groundbreaking content, interviews, research and insights to help patients.”
Founded by Roger Daltrey and Pete Townshend of The Who, TCA aims to make a positive impact in the lives of teenagers and young adults diagnosed with cancer. The organization aims to educate and support hospitals and outpatient facilities during the development of specialized units for this age group. By providing education and support, TCA assists hospitals develop teen and young adult-focused units, which offer an appropriate psychosocial atmosphere for the age group.
Simon Davies, Executive Director of TCA added, 'We are thrilled to partner with the Cure Media Group and their extensive network to help us raise the profile of young people and their cancer care in America. Together we aim to transform the structure of health systems to better accommodate teen and young adults with cancer that have not previously been a focus for pediatric or adult cancer hospitals. We aim to enhance their experience, treatments, outcomes and survival. This dynamic partnership will enable us to inform, educate and improve."
Because of this joint effort, TCA will be able to share valuable content through CURE® magazine, where audiences will have unprecedented access to research developments, articles and interviews that can help oncologists and other health care professionals better serve their patients. The SAP program is designed to facilitate an open exchange of information among trusted peers with the goal of improving patient care.
