My cancer is gone
or so they say
The scars display
they have cut it away
Go live your life.
So easy to say,
Do the doctors know
It never goes away?
I’m ready to live
To love, move on
Close the problem already
No need to prolong
I’m cured
It’s gone
I’ve survived
I’ve won
Stop the worry
they say,
Just be strong.
I want to live free
no strain, move on.
But the next appointment comes
And again it’s not long,
For the questions are asked
When and how long,
What type and where and now what is wrong?
The disease is now gone
But the title displays
I own cancer forever
It never really goes away!
