Cure Media Group launches new CURE Connections series to help combat misperceptions and fears about CINV, which can be an impediment to appropriate cancer care.
PLAINSBORO, N.J. November 05, 2015 -- CURE Media Group announces the release of a new series of videos as part of CURE Connections®, a video platform designed specifically for patients with cancer. CURE Connections offers videos on the personal journeys of patients with cancer, providing a comprehensive approach to issues facing patients and their families. The latest CURE Connections series explores strategies for the management and prevention of chemotherapy-induced nausea and vomiting (CINV).
Many patients with cancer experience CINV to some degree or other. While it is often preventable or treatable, acquiring CINV is one of the greatest fears that cancer patients may have. Most significantly, misperceptions and fear of CINV can be impediments to effective disease management. Now, through this new series, CURE Connections dispels CINV myths and provides patients, their families and health care providers with the information they need to address chemotherapy-induced nausea and vomiting.
A preview clip of the CINV series is available at http://cureconnections.curetoday.com/videos/management-of-chemotherapy-induced-nausea-and-vomiting.
In addition, many other CURE Connections videos are available at http://www.curetoday.com.
The series titled “CINV: What to Expect and How to Get the Best Treatment Possible” features five group discussions with leading experts and advocates in the field. The panelists include Dr. Richard J. Gralla, Department of Medicine (Oncology), Albert Einstein College of Medicine, New York, and director of Oncology Research, North Bronx Healthcare Network; Rebecca Clark-Snow, R.N., B.S.N., O.C.N., oncology clinical nurse coordinator, University of Kansas Cancer Center; and Kimberly Jewett, two-time breast cancer survivor and patient advocate based in Chicago.
Each episode of the series is about ten minutes in length and explores a significant aspect of CINV, its prevention and management:
“We are proud to offer this latest series on CINV, a condition that is widely misunderstood yet impacts so many cancer patients,” said Mike Hennessy Jr., president of Intellisphere Oncology and Healthcare Specialty Group. “This important series joins our growing library of patient videos on the CURE Connections platform, which reflects our commitment to advancing cancer care through a broad range of educational, research and communications services for the oncology community.”
A longtime leader in print and digital publications, Michael J. Hennessy Associates, Inc., debuted CURE Connections in August 2015. The platform explores challenging topics, such as being diagnosed with cancer, talking to your doctor about the diagnosis, cancer treatments, myths about cancer, and symptoms management.
“The unique value of CURE Connections is our comprehensive approach to issues facing patients and their families,” added Hennessy. “Our guests help educate patients—and their physicians–about the personal side of coping with cancer.”
