A patient undergoing treatment for neuroendocrine tumors maintained a positive attitude about his cancer through phone calls from his care manager to check in after appointments, among other efforts.

Leslie A. Pillar, B.S.N., RN, has been my care manager ever since I have been undergoing treatment for neuroendocrine tumors. She stays well informed about my condition and my overall health. Leslie is always available when I have questions about my treatment or medications, and she has been exceptional with communicating with my doctor and giving me helpful and precise information about any concerns I have with my condition. Leslie faithfully calls me a couple of days after my doctor’s appointments to see how I'm doing and if there's anything I need. She even calls me at times just to see how I'm doing, which helps me maintain a positive attitude about my condition. I couldn't ask for a better care manager, and I am thankful that Leslie was assigned to be a member of my cancer medical team.
