‘Nanny 911’ Star Deborah Finck Died of Leiomyosarcoma

TikTok influencer and reality television personality Deborah Finck died on Jan. 14, 2025, of leiomyosarcoma, according to a report from Forbes.

Finck and her family were known for their 2005 appearance on the Fox reality series “Nanny 911.” She shared her five-year cancer journey on TikTok and Instagram, garnering an audience of more than 800,000 followers. She made her final post on Jan. 13.

Her daughter, Katerina, noted on Instagram that supporters could make donations to Ronald McDonald House in her honor in lieu of flowers, Forbes reported.

Bob Uecker Died After Small Cell Lung Cancer Diagnosis

Baseball player, sportscaster and actor Bob Uecker died on Jan. 16, 2025, at the age of 90.

Uecker’s family announced his death in a statement issued by the Milwaukee Brewers, which stated that he had been treated for small cell lung cancer since early 2023, according to the New York Times.

Uecker spent six seasons playing in the major league before his long tenure as a sportscaster for the Brewers. He shared his story in the 1982 memoir “Catcher in the Wry,” written with Mickey Herskowitz.

In addition to his work as a player and sportscaster, Uecker appeared in three films in the “Major League” franchise, starting with the 1989 original.

‘Boy Meets World’ Star Danielle Fishel Completed Radiation Treatment

Actress Danielle Fishel, known for her work as Topanga on the 1990s sitcom “Boy Meets World,” announced that she is “officially done” with radiation treatment for breast cancer.

Fishel, 43, made the announcement on the Jan. 13 episode of her podcast, “Pod Meets World.”

“I did 15 rounds of whole breast radiation and then five rounds of targeted radiation, which just means they focus in on the very small area where my cancer was versus treating the entire breast,” she said, according to a report from People. “It will help significantly lower my chances of recurrence, which is always good news, but, boy, I am feeling the effects ... Physically, I have a very bad sunburn. I also have a rash on top of the sunburn, which is just great."

Fishel announced in Aug. 2024 that she had been diagnosed with ductal carcinoma in-situ, which is also known as stage 0 breast cancer; she revealed in Oct. 2024 that she had undergone two lumpectomies, surgical procedures to remove the tumor and abnormal tissue.

Irish Star Linda Nolan of The Nolans Died

Singer Linda Nolan, part of the famed Irish family group The Nolans, died on Jan. 15, 2025, at the age of 65. Nolan, according to a report from the BBC, originally received a diagnosis of breast cancer in 2005, followed by a secondary breast cancer in 2017, which metastasized, or spread from its original site, to her brain by 2023.

The Nolans’ hits included the 1980 single “I’m In the Mood For Dancing.” According to the BBC, Nolan and her sisters were the first Irish act to sell more than a million records globally and would eventually go on to sell 30 million records.
