Rachele is an example and provides hope for others with cancer. 

Rachele Robinson, RN, truly embodies what it means to be a nurse and to care for your patients and their families. Rachele works on a high-acuity intermediate care unit at The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center.

Rachele is a cancer survivor herself. She can apply her story when relating to patients and their families. Many of the patients she has cared for speak about how caring and thoughtful Rachele is in her everyday work.She is an example and provides hope for others with cancer.

She recently participated in MD Anderson’s Boot Walk in November 2023. This is MD Anderson’s largest community fundraising event. The annual fundraiser provides support for patient programs, research, prevention and education initiatives at MD Anderson. All funds raised directly advance our mission to end cancer. Since the event began in 2016, more than $11 million has been raised. This year, Rachele was able to meet her goal of raising $1,000 for the Boot Walk.

Rachele’s story, in her own words, is, “I'm raising money for continued research to fight cancers like mine (thyroid cancer), my husband's (melanoma), my mother's (breast), my sisters (lymphoma), my cousin's (leukemia). As you can see, cancer has had a huge effect on my life and those I love. Let's kick cancer's butt!”

This shows her commitment to the oncology population she cares for and the tenacity she must advocate for her patients. Rachele is also very knowledgeable and has advocated for needed interventions for her patients that have helped them continue to recover.

Rachele is a shining light through her survivorship she brings to her patients and their families. Rachele is deserving of this recognition as anyone can be.
