Margarette wrote a poem in honor of her niece who worked hard to give her loved ones a sense of hope before she died of breast cancer.

You were so courageous knowing your days on Earth weren't long

Even in your weakest moments, you chose to show up strong

You motivated the masses as you fought to achieve your dreams

Determined to keep your dignity and walk in high esteem

There were days you dared to struggle and days you dared to win

Days you dared to give up hope, days you dared give in

You taught me so many things as I watched you fight this fight

You were so loving and kind to others even at the end of life

Fear and faith can't marry as you held on to the latter

Inspiring others to live and laugh to hold on to what matters

To be in the moment not in your past for no one knows tomorrow

You understood that life is short, the time we have is borrowed

You were strong, yet you were tired, it came your time to rest

Missing you, I look to Heaven I can feel your smile

I wrote and submitted this poem in honor of my niece. She was so strong and determined to live out the rest of her life giving her children and loved ones a renewed sense of hope and strength to carry on.
