I have had treatment for breast cancer four times over the past 20 years. Each time is a little bit different so it is a whirlwind of learning as much as I can as fast as I can in order to make treatment decisions. The whirlwind continues when going through treatment. I think I live my post active cancer life in a whirlwind as well, trying to take advantage of all life has to offer.

This hand-built and hand &quot;painted&quot; (glazed) pottery piece was made in the Clay Group at Piedmont-Fayette Cancer Wellness Center. Dixie often gifted her clay pieces to friends and family as was this piece which has become part of her legacy. Dixie unexpectedly passed with a non-cancer related surgery complication. We miss her dearly and hope that she is enjoying her piece of spiritual paradise.

My journey began nine years ago, and in that time, I have found inner strength, I now have the courage to face each treatment through the encouragement of my doctors, friends and family and I hope every day for a Cure. I chose to paint a dragonfly because when I watch them dart around from flower to flower, it represents me and the many treatments I have been through. (I left the top blank for CURE title!)
