I made this piece after going through uterine cancer that metastasized to my lung. It is made of handmade clay tiles and found objects.

I did this oils on panel painting to remind myself to breathe. For me, it feels like with every hurdle that comes up, I have a little less physical and mental reserves to jump it. When not-great things happen without much time in between to turn the world back right side up, I&#39;m not sure exactly how to weather that. This cancer thing definitely isn&#39;t easy. But then I remember there&#39;s always yellow --&nbsp; and my heart has to smile.
