My Daughter's 26th Birthday

At UCSD La Jolla attending an Expressive Arts class with Alessandra Colfi was part of our therapy and self-expression. It was a wonderful experience to draw from the heart what I was feeling in that moment. It was the first time I drew in my life, and that day was my daughter's birthday - December 17. I drew a birthday card, and with every millimeter I drew, a tear fell from my eyes thinking, "One day I will see you again." This drawing meaning everything to me: happiness, because with every letter of love I express to my daughter that I love her. Those colors she always liked and shapes that don't take you anywhere, happiness, bright flowers, and a dollar bill to bring you luck. But one day we are going to be together and we will remember this journal like the happiest years of our lives. I am strong and healthy. I am the happiest mother.
