This piece is titled Under My Wings, it is acrylic on an old piece of a picket fence that I sanded by hand. In this piece, I wanted to reflect on how I will be a protector of my two daughters now and after my death. The wings represent a veil of security of a mothers never ending love. I have been living with stage 4 Breast cancer for six years, and my biggest fear is leaving my daughters, Caroline and Victoria, motherless. I want them to know that I will always be a part of their body and soul no matter where my human body inhabits. My own mother died of this disease when I was 15 and I wish she had left something like this to have as a reminder.
